This was an opportunity to come together with other program participants from around Australia and share experiences whilst exploring one of Australia’s most beautiful cities during the Sydney Vivid Festival. This festival is a stunning and picturesque annual light show that highlights and magnifies the beauty of the iconic Sydney Harbour, Opera House, Harbour Bridge and city surrounds.
On our first night together we had fun with some ice-breaker games and program participants all received a special message from their host family. Examples include:
Sven, you have been a very considerate, easy going and helpful member of our family. Even though things have been a bit tough you are always willing to listen and to give your best. We also really enjoy your sense of humour and the way you think of new ideas to help Kieran.

We have loved having Ines join our family, she has changed our lives! The kids are calmer, happier and Mike and I both feel like we have more quality time with the kids now that she is here helping us. Ines is kind and thoughtful and really hard working, we are going to miss her when she leaves.

Sina puts in so much amazing therapy work with Aria, quietly and without fuss. We can see the progress Aria is making as a result! She doesn’t get flustered when the children do the wrong thing and clearly enjoys working with the kids. Sina does household tasks without needing to be asked, finds lots of things to entertain herself on days off and is a pleasure to host.
