Ich bin in eine wundervolle Familie gekommen und bin sehr froh bei ihnen zu sein. Sie sind sehr freundlich und geben einem das Gef\u00fchl dazuzugeh\u00f6ren. Da zurzeit das Haus renoviert wird, ist es meistens laut und chaotisch. Ich habe ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad, in dem ein begehbarer Kleiderschrank ist. Des Weiteren haben sie zwei s\u00fc\u00dfe Hunde, Cookie (3) und Koda (9 Monate), die mir jeden Tag aufs Neue den Tag vers\u00fc\u00dfen. Alex (15) ist einer meiner Gastkinder, der auf ein privates Internat geht und kaum bei uns daheim ist. Er ist sehr nett und witzig. Er ist gerade in einem Deutschcamp in Deutschland, da er gerne Deutsch lernen will. Mein anderes Gastkind Jake (16) auf das ich am meisten aufpasse, hat Special Needs. Er ist ein Downsyndrom-Kind mit Autismus. Er ist sehr s\u00fc\u00df und manchmal auch sehr witzig.<\/p><p>Er kann zwar nicht reden, aber verst\u00e4ndigt sich mit einem Tablet. Ich versuche selbstst\u00e4ndige Handlungen mit ihm zu trainieren, wie z.B. Geschirr nach dem Essen wegzur\u00e4umen oder das Badezimmer nach der Nutzung aufzur\u00e4umen. Um auch seine Fitness auf Vordermann zu bringen, gehe ich 4-6 Mal in der Woche f\u00fcr ca. 30 &#8211; 40 min mit ihm aufs Laufband. Die Fortschritte kann man an seinem sichtbaren Gewichtsverlust erkennen. Die Entwicklung macht sich auch an der frequentierten Nutzung seines Talkers bemerkbar. Er beschreibt beispielsweise mit Hilfe des Tablets, was er gerade vor sich sieht oder sagt auch Bescheid, wenn er das Badezimmer nutzen muss. Mit Jake\u2019s Therapeuten-Team arbeiten wir durch verschiedene T\u00e4tigkeiten wie z.B. Minigolf an seiner Fein- und Grobmotorik. Dies ist eine sehr gute Erg\u00e4nzung zu den \u00dcbungen die ich t\u00e4glich mit ihm mache. Was mich besonders gl\u00fccklich stimmt, ist es die Freude meiner Gasteltern zu sehen, dass ihr Sohn bereits so viele Fortschritte in kurzer Zeit gemacht hat. \u00dcber meine Ankunft und Erfahrungen vor Ort kann ich folgendes sagen: Die ersten 2-3 Wochen hatte ich ein wenig mit Jetlag zu k\u00e4mpfen, aber man lebt sich schnell ein. Heimweh bekommt man am Anfang oft ein bisschen, aber das vergeht mit der Zeit. Am Anfang werden Dinge wie Bankkonto, F\u00fchrerschein usw. gekl\u00e4rt.<\/p><p>Ich habe die Cherryblossom Zeit in Washington DC miterlebt, die in den Morgenstunden am sch\u00f6nsten sind. Museen kostenfrei besuchen und noch so viel mehr entdecken.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ich gehe ab und zu mit Koda in ein Hunderestaurant, wo man die M\u00f6glichkeit hat sich mit anderen Hundebesitzern auszutauschen. So konnte ich bereits einige Amerikaner kennenlernen und treffen. Mit ihr war ich in Philadelphia und im Kino, wo wir andere Freunde getroffen haben. I<\/span><span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align);font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, 'Noto Sans', sans-serif;font-size: 1rem\">ch war mit drei Freunden zu einem Tagestripp in Philly. Es lohnt sich und es hat Spa\u00df gemacht. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ab und zu gehe ich mit Freunden in Parks oder mache Unternehmungen, was richtig sch\u00f6n und lustig ist. <\/span>Nach einer Verschnaufspause in der niedlichen Unterkunft fuhr ich auf Anraten der Besitzer noch in Richtung Valdez, einer Hafenstadt aus der Zeit des Goldrausches. Der Tipp war super, denn die Fahrt durch die Gletscher (unter anderem der Worthington Glacier) war atemberaubend sch\u00f6n! Ich war auch schon mit ihm auf dem Schie\u00dfstand und kann meine Englischkenntnisse durch ihn verbessern und er seine Deutschkenntnisse, da er wieder Deutsch lernen will.
