- Lodging accommodations: One standard ticket includes a spot in a 4-person hotel room that you will share with other Apex Social Care Professionals. Overlooking the stunning Pacific Ocean and in the center of a charming beach community in Downtown San Clemente, the Volare Resort’s excellent location offers more than 300 boutique shops and restaurants all within walking distance. The Resort is within walking distance to a bustling nightlife filled with vintage bars, live music, and farmers markets. It is also located a short walk from the pristine shoreline with an old-town vibe while shopping on your way down to the beach. Resort Amenities include an outdoor pool and whirlpool, a fitness center and a patio for spending time with friends.
- Meals: 5 Meals from Friday evening through Sunday morning are included as well as snacks and drinks. You will have a chance to indicate your dietary preferences during registration and our team works hard to accomodate them.
- Event Merchandise: A gift bag with memorabilia and keepsakes from the Surf Outing is provided to each participant
- Digital Keepsakes: Professional photography and videography throughout the weekend, capturing your once in a lifetime memories for you. Each participant will receive a link to download the professional photos after the event.
- Apex Social Yearbook: This full-color Yearbook is a vibrant and comprehensive annual memento celebrating the dedicated Apex team and memorable moments of Apex Care Professionals. This yearbook showcases individual portraits and group photos of the Apex Care Professional Team, highlighting their professional roles, achievements, and personal quotes that reflect their commitment and passion for care.
- Surf Lessons: Join your colleagues in learning how to surf, guided by the professionals at JP’s Surf School. Wetsuits and boards are provided in addition to instruction and personal coaching.
- Entertainment: Bonfire on the beach and a special Sunset Dinner Gala round out the incredible weekend with friends and colleagues in San Clemente.
- Experiential Learning: Meet Pro Surfer Rocky McKinnon and learn as he demonstrates the adaptive surfboard he invented to accommodate people of all abilities out on the water.
Surf Outing FAQ
Yes, absolutely! In the registration form, select the option that you are purchasing a ticket for someone else.
Current Apex Social Care Professionals who are not extending for a full 12 months are eligible for a 50% discount on the Surf Outing Event. This is a unique benefit only offered through the Apex Social Program to active Care Professionals. Ask your ACD for your discount code.
Apex Social Care Professionals who have extended their program for a full 12 months, are eligible for a FREE ticket. Apply the extension discount code at check-out to receive a free ticket. This covers the cost for a standard ticket with a 4-bed hotel room. You may upgrade your room as described below, at your own cost. The number of upgraded hotel rooms available is limited.
Yes, you can upgrade your ticket at the following rates:
2-Person Hotel Room Upgrade – $130 This upgrade includes a 2-person hotel room that you will share with one other Apex Social Care Professional. (subject to availability at the time of booking)
Private Hotel Room Upgrade – $400 This upgrade includes lodging accommodations in a private hotel room. (subject to availability at the time of booking)
You are eligible for a free shared 4-person room ticket, if you have extended your program with Apex Social by 12 months. If you are unsure, check back with your Apex Care & Development Director (ACD).
SNA (John Wayne/Orange County) Airport is the most convenient to San Clemente. An uber ride from SNA will cost approximately $50.
LAX (Los Angeles International) Airport is another option that is approximately 1.5-2 hour drive. A one way uber ride from LAX will cost approximately $100+.
We will assist you in setting up ride-share groups to arrange your airport transfers with other participants if you are interested.
If you are joining the LA Tour, you should schedule your departure flight from LAX (Los Angeles International) Airport. The Tour Bus will drop off at LAX at 3pm so schedule your flight to depart at 5pm or later.
If you are joining the Day 2 Surf Lessons in San Clemente, you should schedule your departure flight from SNA Airport at 4pm or later.
On Sunday there are Two Activity Options you can choose from:
- A Bus Tour of Hollywood and Los Angeles. (Space on the LA Tour is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.)
1-hour Advanced Beginner Surf Lesson in San Clemente.
- On Sunday there are two Activities you can register for that are included. Option 1 is a Bus Tour of Hollywood and Los Angeles. Option 2 is an Advanced Beginner Surf Lesson in San Clemente. Space on the LA Tour is limited and will be granted on a first come, first serve basis.
- This is a popular option. Your first step will be to speak with your host family to see if you would be able to get additional time off to plan a trip with friends. San Clemente is equidistant to San Diego and Los Angeles (about 1 or 1.5 hours by car).
