Travel Recommendations from Care Professionals – Part III

Lisa Pinkert – Tarzana, CA

Travel doesn’t have to be expensive! In late September, I met Enya, and since then, we’ve been traveling every weekend! I have my own CP car, and so we’re on the road every Friday night, driving up to 8 hours to spend a beautiful weekend somewhere amazing! We bought a bunch of stuff to transform my little compact car into a little camper van. We got an air mattress, a water cooker, a mini fridge, and lots of food.

Most of the time, we’re sleeping on BLM land, so we don’t have to pay for it. Sometimes we’re on a campground, but that’s not expensive either. We bought the America the Beautiful pass, so we don’t have to pay for park entrances, and with the little water cooker, we’re making tea and oatmeal every morning. Saturday and Sunday are our exploring days, where we hike up to 16km a day.

Nature here in America, especially the west coast, is so unique, and you have to explore it! The only things we have to pay for now are gas and food, if we want to eat something different than what we have in the car. We do movie nights under the stars or go out for stargazing. So far, we’ve driven over 40,000km and made tons of memories! I would never choose another life!

Anne Sander – Purchase, NY

I loved traveling with my friend Katrin. We did a road trip through Arizona and Utah. The best thing we did was stargazing in a national park.

Sophia Lang – San Francisco, CA

My twin sister visited me, and we went to a park. It rained the day before, so it was slippery, and I took a nice slide right into the mud. My twin sister laughed so hard at me that she fell too.

That was too funny!

So there you have it, some great travel recommendations from our Care Professionals that are sure to make your next trip a success!

Stay tuned for Travel Recommendations Part 4, where we will share more stories about trips and adventures from our Care Professionals‘ experiences while in the United States.

Happy traveling!
