I can recommend staying in hostels. I’ve met so many amazing people along the way while visiting cities and it is a great chance to connect with other young people from so many different backgrounds, states and countries.

Definitely Alaska so far. The nature in combination with the activities you can do there is unforgettable.

New York City during the Christmas season is definitely a Highlight as well! It is very crowded but also totally worth it. It took me almost a month to really process the experience. It was just so magical walking through the decorated streets and seeing the Rockefeller Christmas tree 🎄

The Harper’s Ferry Trail followed by the Harper’s Ferry Brewery. Perfect day! Any billy goat trail and Christmas market in Baltimore.

I really enjoyed Harpers Ferry (West Virginia) and the surrounding area, including Maryland Heights Park, which offers a rewarding overlook after a couple of hours of hiking. I was there last fall, and the view from above was gorgeous because of all the multicolored leaves. The tripoint of MD, WV, and VA is also located very close by.

Sarah - Occupational Therapist

Arlington, VA

Violetta - Special Needs Care Provider

Fort Belvoir, VA

The island of Kauai in Hawai’i is breathtaking. I can recommend visiting this place. I saw big turtles and so many chickens! Have you ever seen a wild chicken on the beach? I did! It looked very funny and so out of place, haha. And a fun fact: Kauai was the place where Jurassic Park was filmed. 🙂
