I took my East-Cost-Bestie on a road trip through Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont all the way up to Montreal. All in 3 days! We camped in the car, went on a river with pneumatic tires, let ourselves drift and strolled through Montreal. The highlight of our trip was Acadia National Park, which was one of my favorite destinations of the 1st year. We watched the sunrise, went up a mountain and had a wonderful view and went for a walk on the beach.

Definitely the area around Mount Hood. There are so many great hiking trails and spots to enjoy the nature and take in the amazing views. 🏔️

The hiking trails in the Rocky Mountains are very beautiful! Especially outside the vacation season, you can enjoy nature and the silence there

If you don’t know which weekend class you should pick, I’d highly suggest the Puerto Rico Photography class! The stuff we did was just so much fun and it didn’t feel like a class at all – more like an amazing trip with new friends! We learned a lot, but we experienced more! The nature, the streets, the people! Just go, trust me!

I think for me it’s so hard to only pick one must-visit destination recommendation. I think the US is so big and has unbelievable many beautiful places! I love the variety a lot and how unique every single spot is. Also to have the opportunity to see the most beautiful spots in nature and in the same time to be able to admire huge skylines in the big cities. I spent my first year in Chicago and I wouldn’t want to miss to see that city but also New York is one of my must visit places in the US.

I spent the weekend in New York with Vio, Katja and Lilli. Two of us had the Apex backpack with us. As we were walking through the streets of New York towards the Empire State Building, someone behind us suddenly shouts „Hey, are you from Apex? We recognized the backpack.“ We met two other care professionals in the middle of NYC! That was so crazy. Greetings to Melissa and Kim.

The best places are those that are not on any map. They are the places you find when you get lost and don’t really know where you are.

We have been to the Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. We made a tour through the Cave, and at some point the Ranger shut off all the lights, to show everyone how dark it really is without any light in there. I tried to see something and moved my hand in front of my face. I said to Rika she should also try it, how crazy it is that you can not even see the moving of your hand. She tried. Just then, the light got turned back on, and Rika and I were standing there waving our hands in front of our faces like we were dumb. 😂

I planned a trip to Disney world in Orlando with another CP. Unfortunately she couldn’t come with me. I was very sad and honestly didn’t want to go anymore. I tried to find travel buddies but I couldn’t find somebody because it was last minute. So I decided not to go to Disney World and did a bunch of other things instead. I rented a car and drove to the Canaveral National Seashore. This beach was extremely beautiful and nobody else was there. Furthermore I did a lot of hiking in the woods of Orlando. I loved all those palm trees and exotic plants I haven’t seen in their natural habitat before. I also went to a museum which reminded me a lot of a TV-show with its buildings and the staff was dressed up as rangers (Silver River museum). The best part was a kayaking tour on the Silver springs. The water is very clear and you can see manatees during the winter time. At the tour I met a family who visited Disney the day before and they said it was extremely crowded (it was close to Christmas) and in retrospect I’m so happy how the journey turned out in the end. I can really recommend visiting Orlando and experiencing the other side next to Disney.

In my opinion, the top travel destinations definitely include NYC, Hawaii, Cali and a road trip through the national parks in Arizona/Utah/Nevada.

One of my unforgettable trips has been my cruise to the Bahamas. It was my very first cruise ever and I felt in love with it. And the Bahamas are so beautiful and you can see a lot. Even though I’m afraid of the ocean, I went on a boat and did snorkeling in the open ocean. It was incredible! Also, we went to the pigs island where I fed the pigs and held a baby pig on my arm. It was an amazing experience!

Kansas City: Our Uber driver asked us if she should take a picture of us, we thought she meant in the car, so we said yes. When we arrived at our destination, she stopped, left the car, and went to a water fountain across the street. We were confused and asked her where she was going. She said we can take pictures in front of the fountain. We were even more confused, but said yes. Our bags were still in the trunk of the car. She took some pictures and asked us if we could take one of her tops, we weren’t in a rush, so we agreed again. She started looking for a song on her phone, and when she finally decided which song she liked, she wanted me to take a TikTok, she started dancing and twerking while I was recording her. My friend kept watching the car to make sure nobody would steal our bags, and thankfully, nobody did, but this was the wildest Uber experience I have ever had!

When I was 1 month in my host family, we drove by car from Ohio to Florida. In the middle of the night, we had to stop because of a flat tire. Changing a tire at 3 am and sleeping at a gas station in Tennessee was the most bonding moment with the family! I was so glad for the experience and we still laugh about the moment!

Well I did so many very cool adventures, but I have to say that one of my favorite trip was the Washington DC trip. I went there just for a weekend but it was just amazing. My favorite part was to go up on the Washington monument and see everything from up there. It was wonderful. You could see all the memorial from there and you even had a better view to the White House. I also loves the Smithsonian museums. I went to all the places in „Night at the museum“ with was very cool and I really enjoyed it.

Other cool trips: Camping in Vermont and the short stop in Montreal, the Rhode Island and Connecticut roundtrip and the Nashville and Kentucky roundtrip.

These are just some of my cool and amazing adventures!
